Are there any women who inspire you?

Oxana: There are many women who inspire me, but one in particular stands out since childhood: Valentina Tereshkova. The Russian Valentina was the first female and the youngest astronaut ever in space. She was a real role model for young women who always encouraged them to study science. Her motivation was showing that it is not only possible for women to embark on a career in this field, but that they also have the chance to make a great success of it. Valentina was for me the ultimate proof that women can be successful in once traditionally male professions.

Why did you choose VINCI Energies?

Oxana: I always wanted to work for a large leading company with a good reputation that is also known for its strong corporate culture. It is important to me that there is a positive atmosphere in the organisation. I saw that VINCI Energies was growing and thought it would be a great opportunity to be part of this positive development. I applied spontaneously and was immediately offered the job, which I am still very happy about. I could use my six years of professional experience in Russia in my new job. We work together as a close-knit team and are driven by a common desire for results. I also receive constant support from VINCI Energies in attending all kinds of training courses, which allows me to develop my professional skills even further.

What advice would you give to women who also want to work in a technical field?

Oxana: If a woman truly wants to achieve something, anything is possible. It is mostly about the personal goals you set yourself and the desire to achieve them, regardless of gender or sex. At VINCI Energies, I see that both men and women are treated with equal respect. We do not yet have many female managers here at Cegelec, but I am experiencing a positive evolution.
